Baycel Federal Credit Union is a member owned, federally chartered financial institution. It is regulated by Federal standards and examined by Federal examiners. Being member owned, it is independent and is governed by an elected Board of Directors. The credit union is a success - your success - because of member participation. Money deposited by members provides the pool of funds from which the credit union can return to our members in the form of low cost loans and other important financial services, generating earnings to pay dividends on deposits. At Baycel Federal Credit Union, we strive to provide our members with professional, first class services and quality financial information.

Baycel Federal Credit Union began in April 1963, when employees of the Celanese plant of Bay City, seeing a need for low cost credit and higher earnings on deposits, decided to form a financial institution. Chartered in 1963, Baycel Federal Credit Union is a non-profit financial organization that is regulated by the National Credit Union Administration. Since 1963, the credit union has grown steadily to become a strong and full service financial institution, which offers a full range of savings options and low cost loans.

Memebership to Baycel Federal Credit Union is open to those individuals who live, work, attend school or worship in Matagorda County.

Once a person is a member, they will remain a member until their account is closed. Each member's immediate family (mother, father, brother, sister, children) are all eligible to join.
